Exeter Synagogue

On Monday 15th May, Year 5 travelled to Exeter with the added excitement of going by train. On arrival, we made our way around to the Synagogue where we were welcomed in and followed tradition of sitting with the boys to one side and the girls on the other. We learnt about the different traditions and beliefs that different people follow in regards to Judaism. It was very interesting to hear more detail about the importance of the synagogue and the artefacts within.

We were amazed when we heard about the size of the Torah scroll and the fact it might take approximately 4 years for someone to write it! Everyone engaged fantastically with their questions and really impressed with the information they knew.

After, we were able to walk to the park for lunch and played some games to link with the learning and some questions regarding our focus country of Brazil this week.
