Kings Nympton is an idyllic village nestled in the stunning Devon countryside, yet only 10 minutes from Chulmleigh and South Molton. We see ourselves as the small school with the big ideas. Our staff team are dedicated to ensuring all children have access to a wealth of learning experiences and the very best curriculum. We are able to do this by working closely and sharing skills across our Federation (we are federated with Winkleigh Primary School).
By planning trips and residentials across the Federation, children from Kings Nympton Primary School get to meet other children from their year groups before their transition to their chosen secondary school.
Finally, the time for splashing around in the river. They certainly know how to make a splash!
We even had time for some map reading using compass points for our geography units in both Class 1 & 2. The children all managed to navigate their way around the forest without getting lost.
Cooking this week was ash bread - a firm forest school favourite with a choice of jam or honey.
Clay blob art! The children were so focussed on creating their blob creations and I'm sure you'll agree they are wonderful. One creator even sort advice and support for adding wooden ears...amazing!
A bit of team work when making the nature weaving frame. Bug hunting, den building, zip wire fun and tree climbing.
Lovely morning at forest school. Everyone chose their forest school name and everyone used an adjective to describe their animal, and most children used alliteration. Then it was strikers for the younger children, followed by KS2 trying to light a fire big to become the main campfire. They chose to work as a group and were successful this week. Well done!
