Foundation Stage Worker

Exciting opportunity to join Winkleigh Primary School Nursery Team from January 2025 as we extend our Nursery provision to include children from 9 months of age. 

We are passionate about our provision and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and inspirational Nursery team member. You will work effectively as part of our excellent team and build positive relationships with all members of our community. We are looking for applicants who are dedicated to making a difference to children’s lives and to ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve. 

You will be experienced in providing care and supporting learning for children from the age of 9 months through to 5 years and ideally qualified to Level 2 in Early Years. You must have a love for young children and a desire to provide excellent early education in a safe, fun, and engaging environment  

This vacancy is 5 days per week term time 8:45am - 3:30pm. There may be the opportunity in the future to work from 7:45am – 5:30pm depending on need. Please indicate your availability on your application form. 

31.25 hours per week (8:45am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday Term Time only)

£11.79 - £11.98 per hour

 

You will be able to; 

  • Assist the Teacher and Senior members of staff in ensuring the provision is running to an outstanding standard. . 

  • Support with day to day running of the provision using your own initiative and be able to take direction and react to given solutions with integrity and compassion  

  • Promote all areas of the foundation stage by providing experiences and activities that are challenging but achievable, to help children develop and reach the next steps. 

  • Inspire and motivate children. Enable them to be the best that they can be, by interacting and supporting children in a positive way to foster an enthusiasm for learning 

  • Encourage every child to learn and achieve with enthusiasm, skill and demonstrate the desire to make a difference 

  • Ensure high expectations for all, ensuring that children make outstanding progress 

  • Work with others to plan and co-ordinate the indoor and outdoor environment in order to provide a positive context for learning and teaching 

  • Meet requirements for the observation, assessment and recording of children’s development  

  • Demonstrate high expectations for the well-being of all children in your care ensuring confidentiality at all times and the importance of safeguarding  

  • Organise your time and use creative and practical skills to prepare resources 

  • Attend training and regular staff meetings 

  • Keep the nursery in a clean and tidy state
